Description Of Work: Install insulation to two attics, a bay window and the the kitchen addition through the air
vent. Although the project was delayed slightly, the delay seemed unavoidable and I was told in a timely manner.
The type of material installed is "green", and a thermal barrier.
Member Comments: The larger attic is nearly 200 years old and is completely floored. The air conditioning
system covers much of the floor perimeter, and it is important to retain the historic character of the attic itself.
This company lifted the floor boards from the middle, and blew in the insulation that way, encountering more
barriers than would be anticipated. They re-nailed the whole floor, and left the area clean. Although I had not
known that the area above the bay window could be insulated, they told me about it, and were the only insulation
company (out of 3) who suggested this. So far, although we haven't had too much freezing weather, this has
made our TV room much more comfortable. The original plan included blowing insulation through the roofing
space from the addition attic to to kitchen: They encountered a barrier. Rather than abandon this plan, they blew
insulation through the air vent above the kitchen addition (which was apparently, a totally separate wing) thus
insulating a much larger are than would have been possible originally; This cost me more than the original
estimate, but extremely reasonably given how much more area they were covering. In all areas, the insulation
has been effective. I highly recommend this firm.
